Tokyo Lifestyle Photographer: A Day in the Life of the Wan Family
I have to say, I really enjoy when a client chooses meaningful places to do a photo session at! For this family photo session, it was more of a “lifestyle” than a “portrait” session in that we explored their neighborhood, stopping by a 7-11, a little park, a traditional house, a restaurant… we basically just walked around and had some fun!
Why do I like these photos so much? I feel like these photos really show a story- A day in the life of this beautiful family.
I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed photographing this bright, silly, and fun family!

Tokyo Engagement Photographer: A Proposal at Shiba Koen
Guillaume contacted me the day before he planned to propose and we communicated via Whatsapp to figure out these last minute details for this proposal + engagement shoot! This couple was really lucky to have such amazing weather in Tokyo… the next day it was pouring rain. His fiancee truly was surprised by the proposal, and of course SHE SAID YES! You can tell in the photos that she was very happy and kept giggling and laughing since she was so surprised. I really enjoyed capturing that emotion!

Tokyo Vacation Photographer: Annie Explores Shibuya
Annie was traveling through Japan by herself and wanted to get some photos in Shibuya so that way not all of her photos would be “selfies.” I love that she is so adventurous and travels by herself and wanted to be able to remember her trip this way! She was fun to hangout with and was so open to doing a bunch of fun things in Shibuya, including- talking to robots, going to the Purikura photobooths, going to the arcade, and checking out some of the fun stores!
Note: This was a photoshoot I did for Flytographer.

Tokyo Vacation Photographer: An Evening in Shibuya
This couple was in Tokyo for vacation and they wanted some photos in Shibuya at night! I am so glad I had this opportunity to photograph them- they were fun, silly, and I loved their style! I really like how she chose bright colors to wear to stand out against the sea of black/gray/neutral colors. This couple really stood out among the crowd. Besides getting some awesome photos in between the crowds and the lights, we took some fun photos with vending machines and robots as well. Shibuya can be a hectic area to photograph in but it is definitely one of the most fun!
Enjoy!

Tokyo Engagement Photographer: A Winter Proposal in Harajuku
Please note: Photos have been reduced in resolution/size for the website. Clients always receive large high resolution files. Then we headed to Harajuku for some urban shots!

Tokyo Family Photographer: Autumn in Shiba Koen and Zojoji Temple
Such a small world! I know Bryan from high school, and he was in Tokyo for a family vacation. A mutual friend of ours put us in touch and he told me he was interested in photos. Such perfect timing cuz there were AUTUMN COLORS EVERYWHERE in Tokyo! (This shoot was done during the 1st week of December).
I may say this a lot, but I REALLY REALLY REALLY loved doing this shoot- The color of the leaves were gorgeous, we found a PERFECT spot in Shiba Koen park for their toddler to play in the leaves, the red leaves at Zojoji Temple were AMAZING, and this family was so fun to hang out with and catch up with! BTW if you can’t tell in the photos Mariel has an awesome hearty laugh… so great to photograph!
Bryan’s parents joined in for a few shots as well. I think it’s great to be able to have some family photos while vacationing in Tokyo!

Tokyo Photographer: Family Portraits in Daikanyama
I love it when my clients choose a sentimental place to be photographed for their Portrait Session. Besides the fact that it gives me an opportunity to explore somewhere new, I love that it is meaningful for the client as well. This family chose to do photographs at the Tsutaya bookstore in Daikanyama because this area was where the mom grew up. They wanted to do a portrait session that could be used for their Japanese New Year greetings, so these were taken in the beginning of December.
Enjoy!

Tokyo Family Photographer: Tokyo Tower and Shiba Koen Family Portrait Session
I love it when families coordinate their clothes together! This family was super stylish with their outfits that had hints of red in different places.. which in turn looked so good at Shiba Koen with Tokyo Tower in the background! I love how even their 2 dogs had collars with flowers around their neck. Their son really enjoyed the planes going by and of course, playing at the playground at the end of the session (which kid doesn’t like that??)

Tokyo Tourist Photographer: A Date in Asakusa
What a fun couple from California. They were vacationing in Japan and decided to rent some traditional clothing for their day out in Asakusa. Even though Asakusa Sensoji Temple is usually quite crowded it is still such a beautiful and fun place to take photos!

Tokyo Lifestyle Photographer: Newborn Twins
I recently had the honor of photographing twin newborn boys! I loved being able to photograph a lifestyle session in the comfort of the family’s own home. The grandparents were in town visiting so it also provided a great opportunity to get them in the photos as well. One of the best things about doing this shoot was seeing the tremendous love this family has for one another. The grandparents flew from quite far to meet these cute little boys for the SECOND time… they were so proud! I loved seeing the affection everyone had for another and hearing stories of sentimental objects that were in the room!
