Tokyo Vacation Photographer: A Fun and Funky Family Explores Harajuku, Shibuya, and Omotesando

This family booked me for a 2 hour shoot so we could explore Omotesando, Harajuku, and Shibuya!  I LOVED how FUN and OPEN to doing things!  I really enjoy seeing my clients being WOWed by things in Japan- whether it’s the hip store fronts, cute pet shops, cotton candy and desserts everywhere, hall of mirrors, LINE characters, etc!  I also LOVE it when my clients are very intentional with what they wear- the father and son were wearing Pokemon shirts, and it was cool that they brought some funky sunglasses to take photos with!  So creative and adds so much character to the photos!  Halfway during the shoot the storm clouds came and it started to POUR… They got a bit wet but we still had fun and got some great shots!

Tokyo Family Vacation Photographer: Jumping, Running, and Laughing in Shibuya

I couldn’t have asked for a more fun and silly family to photograph in Shibuya! Their energy totally matched the vibe of Shibuya- as you can see from the photos they were running and jumping around everywhere- and making silly faces all the time! I could tell that their daughter has so much fun being around her parents! #parentgoals

Tokyo Vacation Photographer: Dusk at Shibuya

This couple booked a 2 hour photoshoot with me for their anniversary.  The first part of their session was taken at Shinjuku Gyoen, and the photos can be found in the previous blog.

The following photos are from our time together in Shibuya. We took the train from Shinjuku Gyoen so I figured I would get some shots in the metro along the way (I love taking photos in even the most random of locations!)  They changed outfits and we had a great time exploring this area at dusk!

Tokyo Vacation Photographer: Annie Explores Shibuya

Annie was traveling through Japan by herself and wanted to get some photos in Shibuya so that way not all of her photos would be “selfies.”  I love that she is so adventurous and travels by herself and wanted to be able to remember her trip this way!  She was fun to hangout with and was so open to doing a bunch of fun things in Shibuya, including- talking to robots, going to the Purikura photobooths, going to the arcade, and checking out some of the fun stores!

Note: This was a photoshoot I did for Flytographer.

Tokyo Vacation Photographer: An Evening in Shibuya

This couple was in Tokyo for vacation and they wanted some photos in Shibuya at night! I am so glad I had this opportunity to photograph them- they were fun, silly, and I loved their style! I really like how she chose bright colors to wear to stand out against the sea of black/gray/neutral colors. This couple really stood out among the crowd.  Besides getting some awesome photos in between the crowds and the lights, we took some fun photos with vending machines and robots as well. Shibuya can be a hectic area to photograph in but it is definitely one of the most fun!

Enjoy!

Tokyo Photographer: Family Portraits in Daikanyama

I love it when my clients choose a sentimental place to be photographed for their Portrait Session. Besides the fact that it gives me an opportunity to explore somewhere new, I love that it is meaningful for the client as well. This family chose to do photographs at the Tsutaya bookstore in Daikanyama because this area was where the mom grew up.  They wanted to do a portrait session that could be used for their Japanese New Year greetings, so these were taken in the beginning of December.

Enjoy!
