Meet Newlyweds Jen & Zach!
They got married a few weeks ago on the East Coast, and since they weren’t able to do any outdoor photos on their wedding day since it was winter, they decided to do a newlywed photo shoot here in the Dominican Republic, where they have been living! I was so excited to be able to do a bridal beach photoshoot in Las Terrenas! The forecast for the whole weekend was THUNDERSTORMS, but thank God the weather was perfect the day we did the photos! (It rained the following 2 days!) It was great being able to take photos out of the city. Oh. and the sunset was GLORIOUS during the photo shoot!
One of my favorite parts of the shoot was when Zach surprisingly picked up Jen and carried her down to the beach!

We celebrated Chris & Pris’ anniversary at a beautiful restaurant in Bayahibe called Trocadero. Prior to the dinner I took a few quick shots of them around the restaurant- we were there for sunset and it was gorgeous!

Tobin & Inmi
I’ve been to NYC a handful of times, and I never get tired of it. Last month was my first time going with my toddler though so the experience was a bit different! Nonetheless, we had a great time visiting our friends, Tobin and Inmi, who eagerly show us around every time. Tobin was my best friend at UCSD- our love for hip hop dance and spontaneous fun events made us friends quickly. Even though I’ve known Inmi for 2 years, she is one of the kindest, sweetest, and most gentle people I know. Her voice is so calm and soothing, and I am inspired by her passion for dance as well!
I snapped a few photos of them during our 2 day visit. I loved the fall weather in NYC, it was so nice to get away from the humidity of the Dominican Republic!

I first met J & C in Cambodia 3 years ago. I met them within 24 hours from arriving into Phnom Penh, and they became great friends of ours ever since. They are a sweet couple with a pretty amazing testimony. I really admire their integrity, humility, and their faith in God. My hubby and I were so happy they came to visit us here in the DR. Here are a few shots I took of them during our visit to Jardin Botanico and Zona Colonial.

L+R: Santo Domingo Engagement, Part 2
Zona Colonial was such a romantic place to take engagement photos! Did you know that Santo Domingo was the first Spanish colony in the New World? It was the oldest European settlement in the Americas, and the “Zona Colonial” is a UNESCO World Heritage site, filled with beautiful historic buildings and streets. It served as the perfect backdrop for this engagement shoot! Many thanks again to Jose Jimenez for letting me be his second shooter,

In the Dominican Republic, engagement photos are done a bit differently. The bride wears a wedding dress for the engagement photos because there is usually not enough time to take nice/scenic photos on the day of the wedding.
This was such a great experience for me to explore the city and take their photos! I was the second shooter for the wonderful photographer Jose Jimenez , who directed the whole photo shoot. As his assistant, I got practice using the reflector and and light stand. As second shooter, most of the photos I took were from far away, but I was able to snag a few close-ups. The following photos were taken in Parque Mirador Sur.
Lauri the Bride
I got to experience a Dominican wedding for the first time! Thank you to Jose Jimenez for giving me the opportunity to be a second shooter for this wedding. We arrived at Lauri’s house as she was finishing up getting ready, and once she was done, she had a radiant smile on her face. You could see her joy and excitement in her eyes. It was also precious to see how her parents looked upon their daughter with so much love.
S+J: Cambodia Engagement, Part 2
CONGRATULATIONS TO S and J! This is Part 2 of the engagement photoshoot. These pictures were taken in the non-stereotypical parts of Phnom Penh. A little garden cafe, A clean patch of grass (THIS IS SO RARE OUT HERE), stained glass windows, and western architecture.
It was fun doing these photos for S+J, and my hubby and baby came along for the photos so it was like a day hanging out with friends. Miss J was giggling half the time! As I have been sorting through the photos I can see the little glimmer in her eye telling me and everyone else how much she adores her man!
I only had one week to take photos and edit since the couple needed them… but I hope you enjoy!
